Marie Barber, BS, Nutrition and Exercise Coach

Marie Barber, BS
Nutrition and Exercise coach

Marie has always had a passion for healthy living and understands the impact of diet and its effects on disease progression and prevention. She has seen the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise firsthand. As a health coach, she understands that making lifestyle changes is difficult. That is why she believes that small steps over time are the key to success.

She graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from the University of Utah. It was there where her love and understanding of the human body flourished. The knowledge she gained there paved the way for sharing her passion for health with family, friends and community. She runs the SLIM TLC program, along with Becky (see above), and has her own nutrition and exercise coaching business, called Health Edified.

While living in St. George, Utah she taught Anatomy and Physiology at Dixie State University for 10 years. She cherished her time there helping students acquire foundational knowledge as they moved on to study in various healthcare fields.

After undergoing rehab for a knee injury, having 3 children and feeling the effects of stress on the body, Marie understands the importance of keeping the musculoskeletal system strong and healthy. In so doing she discovered a newfound love for yoga. Marie is anxious to share her knowledge of gaining and maintaining health through nutrition and exercise with TLC Family Health. She wholeheartedly believes that these are the key elements to living a long, happy life!

Marie offers in-person and video visits (for the latter, visit https://doxy.me/marie a few minutes prior to the appointment).

Zak Keller, PT, MPT

Zak obtained his Master's in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2006.  Prior to that he received a B.S. in Psychology from Oklahoma State University.  He currently resides in Dallas and has lived in the DFW area since 2007.

Zak has 17+ years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, working with patients in a broad age range with a wide variety of diagnoses, including athletes that range from middle school to professional ranks.  He started his own company, On The Go Physio, to address some of the inherent flaws in the current clinical model, enabling him to optimize quality of care for his patients.

He diagnoses and treats various conditions of the shoulder, knee, back, neck, hip, ankle, and foot, including sprains and strains, soft tissue injuries, joint pain and arthritis, sports and running injuries, and postural dysfunction. He also offers pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. In addition, he offers wellness screens, wellness sessions, and tailored injury prevention programs. Appointments can be as short or as long as one needs, and, unlike almost every other physical therapy provider, where you share your time slot with two other patients, treatment is always 1 on 1.

In his spare time, Zak enjoys walking/jogging, hiking, lifting weights, playing basketball or tennis, and reading.  He is constantly researching a wide variety of interests including history, investing, and literally any health-related topic.

Pricing: $90 per hour (members of TLC Family Health seen at the clinic receive 25% off his usual price of $120/hour). Zak does not accept insurance, however, you will be provided with a detailed receipt after your session that you can submit to your health insurance provider to see if they will reimburse the cost of your PT session. Payment can be made with cash, check, credit/debit card, or Apple Pay at the end of each appointment.
